The founders of YIS Inc. learned early the importance of rigid laboratory controls and took that experience when they left Bendix to start their own metrology service at YIS, Inc.

One of the founders began his career building "Universal Plugable Unit Tester". Made for IBM to test plug in units. Today such a device would be the size on a small desktop computer.

Early on YIS found a niche building "Specialized Test Equipment", the device pictured here was built in the late 70's, it monitors the voltage and current parameters of a welder.

In this picture one of the founders uses a tube driven Tektronix Scope to calibrate equipment.

The technology of Metrology has changed since YIS, Inc. began in September 1971, but the discipline has not. YIS's goal is to build and adopt from that knowledge base and discipline to meet the challenges faced in today's technology.
